For skincare and cosmetics makers

Know what to make, what to order, and what to fix today

Loomenio gives skincare and cosmetics makers one place for ingredients, containers and packaging, a costed recipe for each product, and a Today screen that shows what you can make now, which ingredient or component is limiting a batch, and what to reorder first.

Where skincare businesses lose track

  • Each product has many inputs: actives, oils, preservatives, bottles, pumps, caps, labels, boxes. One price change ripples through several products, and the real cost is rarely current.
  • Containers and closures often decide what you can make, not the formula itself. A shortage of pumps blocks a batch even when the ingredients are in stock.
  • Shared ingredients and long supplier lead times make reorder timing hard to judge from a spreadsheet.

What you set up once

Materials
Ingredients, bottles, jars, pumps, caps, labels and boxes, with units (g, ml, pieces and more), cost and minimum stock.
Recipes
One recipe per product listing each ingredient and component with quantities, and the batch yield. Costs update when a material price changes.
Products
Each product and size, with its selling price and finished stock.
Suppliers and orders
Suppliers, lead times on materials, and purchase orders you can receive into stock.

Illustrative example

How a missing component shows up

  1. 1A batch of body lotion needs ingredients and a 250 ml pump bottle.
  2. 2Loomenio checks every recipe line against stock. The ingredients are fine, but bottles are short.
  3. 3Production shows the bottle as the limiting material with the quantity missing, and Today suggests a reorder.
  4. 4You order bottles, or make a different product first.

How it works day to day

Produce a batch

Record a batch and Loomenio deducts ingredients and packaging from the recipe, adds finished units to stock, and stores the batch cost per unit.

See what is makeable

Production shows how many units of each product you can make and which material is the limit, in the same units you use in recipes.

Keep costs current

Receiving a new delivery updates the moving average cost, so every recipe using that ingredient shows its new cost.

Capture from a note

Optionally write or dictate what you received, used or sold and AI Capture proposes the operations. You review them before anything is saved.

AI is optional and only helps with input. Stock, costs and capacity are calculated by the system, and you review every proposed change before it is saved.

What Loomenio does not do

  • Loomenio does not store formulation percentages, INCI lists, safety assessments or other regulatory records.
  • There are no lot numbers, expiry dates or traceability reports. Do not rely on Loomenio for batch recall or compliance records.
  • Recipes store quantities for a batch. There is no percentage-based formulation or formula-scaling tool.

Questions from skincare makers

What is the best inventory software for skincare makers?

Skincare makers benefit from software that treats ingredients and packaging as inputs to recipes, so a batch deducts both and costs stay current. Loomenio does that and prioritizes what to make, buy and fix. It is not a compliance or lot-traceability system.

Does Loomenio support lot numbers or expiry dates?

No. Loomenio tracks quantities, costs, recipes and batches with a batch code and note, but not lot numbers, expiry dates or traceability reports. If you need those for compliance, keep them in a dedicated record alongside Loomenio.

How do I work out the cost of a skincare product?

Build a recipe with every ingredient and component, including bottle, pump and label. Loomenio calculates the cost per unit from current material costs, plus any packaging, labor and overhead costs you add to the recipe. The free cost calculator walks through those inputs if you want to try numbers first.

Can I import ingredients and products from a spreadsheet?

Yes, as CSV: materials, products and recipe ingredient lines. Columns are matched automatically and every row is reviewed before saving.
